S&W 31-1

Hope somebody can give me some information on a revolver that was given to me years ago, it is a model 31-3 in 32 S&W Long. I believe it’s a J Frame ? Ser. # H108277.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

-3 models began in 1990 & were discontinued in 1991. So yours had a very short lifetime in manufacturing.

My guess it was dropped due to very slow sales.

I suggest you change your title as it lists a 13-3, not a 31-3.

The pictured gun cannot be a 31-3 because it has a pinned barrel. It’s likely a 31-1.

After a few corrections by other members my revolver is a 31-1, not a 31-3 as I had originally posted.

I have one just like that. 31-1 with a sn 792xxx. Not sure of the DOM though. I don't think S&W records are very detailed as to the production dates. H prefixes began in 1969. Four inch barrel deleted in 1978. I have the box and original grips. Wonderful little shooters.
