Hello Forum,
I've taken a break from collecting S&W revolvers for a while.
While in a LGS buying a Dan Wesson pistol pac, 15-2, 357 magnum, I came across an interesting 14-3.
It is in very good condition. It has the original box, parts list, warranty card and screwdriver, and a Bianchi 27B front break holster in basketweave pattern.
What piqued my interest was the additional documents inside the box.
It appears to be an inventory issue document from CHP for this serialized 14-3. The shop owner said he bought the gun from an online auction.
Also, there is a repair slip from the CHP armory when the gun was in for service.
I will have the gun hopefully next week and post pics of docs.
Anyone else purchased an estate firearm with similar Provence?
Thanks,
Adam

It appears to be an issue document from CHP for this serialized 14-2 and a snubby to a deceased former CHP officer. The shop owner said he bought it from an estate and wished he purchased the snubby too. Snubby was apparently in poor condition from close carry to the body for years so he passed on bidding.
Also, there is a repair slip from the CHP armory when the gun was in for service.

Yes I've purchased a couple from family and then purchased letters to verify provenance. I consider them to be very special as a caretaker of them.
