I'm looking at getting an inexpensive .22 cal pistol for plinking and have started looking at the S&W 22A. Any of you have information you can share about this pistol or another inexpensive .22 semi auto?

Thanks

I have one and I really like it. I swear it is as accurate as my model 41. It has been completly reliable. I think it is a great value.

I also have one and just like RT, it is an extreamly accurate pistol. For around $250 you can't beat it IMHO.....

From April 16 - 26, Cabela's will have them on sale for $239.00. In addition, I have a coupon for an additional $30.00 off.

For the price you cannot beat it. S&W also makes the 22S out of steel for $10-20 more and some like the heavier feel of the gun.

Mine is very accurate, and lots of fun with a red dot scope mounted on top. I opted for the wooden grips. They fit my large hands nicely but I think it would cause a problem for anyone with a real small grip size. Another problem the grips make is that it takes an extra push to seat the magazine all the way, which to me is no big deal since this pistol is 100% target/plinking pistol. When I first got mine, I had several jams, misfires, and stovepipes, but after the first 1,000 rounds it has been PERFECT. I would recommend this pistol to anyone that wants to have lots of fun and doesn't want to spend a lot of money doing it.

I have a bull barrel version, I love it, shoot it more then my MKIII. I do get some stovepipes, but no other issues with it. So easy to take down and clean.

Got one for Christmas; love it. Easy to shoot and have found that it will shoot anything. No problems with any of the ammo I have fed it.

I have had mine for about 6 months I love it. The only thing I did was to mount a JP red dot on it. Really accurate now ! I have old eyes.

I have the same gun....bought it about 6-9 months after they came out and I read a review where they actually shot the author's two M41s. I can't recall it failing to feed or eject more than once or twice in all those years and it's quite accurate. I haven't done a side-by-side with my M41s but it's up to the task of casual bullseye shooting and plinking, no doubt. R,

I don't think any 22A is every going to be collectible or appreciate in value significantly...shoot it and enjoy it. R,
