The cylinder of my 24-3 ,44 Special, easily accepts 44 Magnum
cartridges . Is this common to all 24-3 44 Specials ? Spooky !

Neither my 24-3 nor my 624 Lew Horton will accept magnums.
There was a recall on 624's but not 24's for supposedly inferior metal in the cylinders but some say the real reason was cylinders bored too deep so they'd accept magnums. Mother ship liability issues etc.
More knowledgeable folks should be along shortly but whatever else you do, DON' T shoot magnums in your 24.
That does not sound right. The 44 chamber, unless reamed too deep or modified by a previous owner, should not allow full chambering of a 44 Magnum round.
