I've been eyeing a S&W Husqvarna .243 in a local shop. It has light colored wood with schnabel forend. The metal is great. The wood has a few dents. No scope mounts. Asking price is $529. Anyone have any opinions?
If it's in a good of shape as you say then they are great rifles and I think the price is very good but you can always ask to pay less and they can only say no.
The light colored wood probably means that it has the "improved"
push feed action rather than the controlled feed Mauser type action.
"Improved" is in the eye of the beholder. There was a type A S&W on
GB recently with the new type action with a BIN price of a little over
$500 if my memory is correct. The next day it was gone so someone
thought it was a good price. It was a .243 also.
