I have a model 25-5 with a six inch barrel. I bought it about 10 yrs ago from an individual and it only had slight evidence of ever being fired. There no scratches on it at all. The bluing is 100% and no cylinder ring. It is one of several guns I own that I have never fired.

Last night, an attorney was asking if I would be interested in selling him the gun. I really do not care to do so but if the price got right, I might. He told me to set the price.

How much do you guys here feel it would be worth? No box, no papers.

There's one exactly like yours on Gunbroker for a "buy now" price of $1395. I bought this one a year ago for $600. Should be somewhere in between.

Here are a couple photos of the gun.

I paid $385 for an almost identical (factory grips) 25-5 around 8 years ago.

Just a swag, but I'd say it's almost doubled in price.

A couple hours ago the attorney walked over and asked what I decided I would take for the gun. I told him I would take $675. He countered with $275.

The gun is not for sale to him. I will keep it before I let him have it.

Anyway, it has to be some type of a sin to sell a gun and I sin enough as it is. People are supposed to buy guns, not sell guns. Even the bible says to buy guns and does not mention anything about selling them.

Typical attorney. Try and strike a bargin with him when you are in trouble, he probably will not budge on his hourly rate. I am lucky to have a decent lawyer who is good and fair but most are bottom sucking fish thingys. Hang on to that gun.

It never was for sale anyway. He asked me if he could buy it since he did not have one like it. Had he been willing to pay a decent price, I would have let him have it since I never shoot it anyway. There is no way I would let him have it at his offering price.

I guess I would have told him I didn't appreciate him wasting my time. Then I would have billed him.

I paid 650 for mine that is 98% with the box and papers in california. Would buy another again in a heart beat for that price.

Even the Bible says to buy guns???

I would love to find out where that is stated in the Bible!

That might be just the justification/approval I need to make my very religious wife more comfortable with my firearms purchases.

I can't believe I missed this thread. that is just incredible for him to offer that, more so considering the fact that he did ask for your price and gave you a day to think of it. what a total scumbag!

Lawyers are just like anyone else, myself included. Everyone wants something for little or nothing. Had I let him have it at his price, then he would have felt like he got a good deal. If he had paid my price, I would have let a nice gun go that I would have regretted from now on.

I feel that he offered what he wanted to pay and I turned him down. He just did not want it bad enough to pay a fair price. Had I needed the money, I may have considered it. I did not buy the gun to sell and while I never have shot or carried that gun, it is simply another gun in the collection to me but one I do not intend to give away. It is one I could not replace easily, if at all.
