S&W 28-2 Value

I know there have been other threads for this but nothing recent so I was hoping you guys would be able to help me out.

A local woman's father just passed away and left her his firearms collection. She started asking people about prices on the guns and I've helped her a little so far.

The first gun I identified was a H&R 732 in .32 S&W and I will probably be buying that.

The second gun is a S&W Model 28-2. I only have one photo of the gun and I don't have the serial # but I was hoping I you guys might be able to give me a rough estimate on a price. If it's not too pricey I will definitely but it. Of course I will check timing, flame cutting, bore, etc.

I think $425 would be fair to both of you.

Given the chip in the grip near the trigger guard and the bluing wear at the muzzle and leading edge of the cylinder, assuming it is mechanically sound, I would suggest a price of about $425 - $450.

It's hard to find an Nframe around here for less than $500. No idea what the market is in your area. If I saw it at $450, I'd seriously consider buying it. $400 and I'd bring it home. Others would no doubt be willing to pay more, even with the issues it has. One in like new condition would sell for $650 to $750.

I'll pass on the M28, but how much for the train set?

I have a 4" M28 because I believed the Forum when someone stated that "You need at least one with a four inch barrel."

That's a $650 gun around here. But of course YMMV.

Pretty much any working N frame will bring $500 or better around my parts. That one might get closer to $600-650 even with the chip in the stocks.

Around here, a 4' in like condition would be at least $650.00,maybe $50.00 less for a 6".

Anything less than $500 is a steal. It's an N frame with targets on it. JMHO

Thanks for all the help guys but sadly I have some bad news. I was going to give her the pricing and make an offer tomorrow and just got a text from my mom saying she just sold it. So I am really irritated right now, this has been the first non-engaved N-Frame I've seen around here in 2 years.
