Welcome!

With a production year of 1959-'60, it should be stamped MOD 30 on the frame under where the barrel threads into it. This was always in addition to the model name as noted on the box end label - .32 Hand Ejector.

The last one I saw in similar condition was priced at $700, no box or tools. That was 2022. That is about what GB has them selling for.

In the last year I purchased two nickel 32 HE without boxes and paid an average of $725 for them. The pictures aren't very good, so it's difficult to tell the true condition. The box is a little beat up but you do have it. I think Jeff is probably right, it is a $5-600 package.

At the shows in East TN a 3” in the box with papers in new condition will bring $900. I bought a 98-99% 30-1 2” without the box or papers for $600 this year. 32’s seem to be getting popular again and prices are rising just like all the other guns.

Around here the poor condition box would hurt the value but it still ought to sell for around $750 - $850 retail. Maybe $500 - $600 if a dealer were to offer you cash.

I need information on this revolver

The inside of the revolver says MOD 30…

The $65 price on the box was the MSRP for the Model 30 and similar J Frame S&W revolvers in the 1960s.

Alan, would the box be marked Model 30?

This looks to be an older style label if the late 1950s production date is correct. So probably those thrifty Yankees not throwing away and using anything that was still useable.

These and 31-1's were being sold for $500 a few years ago. I purchased a VG 31-1 from a dealer in TX for $500. There just wasn't much interest in 32 L revolvers 3-4 years ago.

That was yesterday as they say. There seems to be more interest these days. $500 is probably low considering this. I'd say 6-$700 would be a better figure for one in VG condition, especially with box, tool and docs which came with mine.

Yes it does. The box appears to earlier than the gun. Is the serial number hand written on the bottom of the box?

Yes! The serial number is written in black on bottom of box but some is cut out from tape being removed

Thank you! Yes it says MOD 30 inside and the bottom of box matches gun serial number but is cut off in the middle only showing first two serial numbers and last 2 numbers

It’s hard to find one on gunbroker in Excellent condition with the box for less than $700 right now.

What they are asking on gun broker and what they are selling for are often two different things. Many/ most at the upper price range are re-listed over and over.
