have one i picked up a while back....while taking it apart to clean it, i came across a J stamped on the frame under the grip....i thought these were k frames?....any help...

no tellin' what is stamped on the frame....those are assembly numbers and codes, they mean nothing.....get it nice and clean and have fun with it...
 
That barrel should measure 2.5" from the muzzle to the forcing cone. I recently acquired two #66-2's, a 2.5" and a 4" barrel. These are fine guns, you will enjoy yours.

yep, i thought i put in 2 1/2, but i mistyped....if i could figure out how to post pics on here i wouldnt have this problem....

j or k frame?.....i think j....have 2 different grips for it, and neither fit like this one....

Very nice....Try out some Ahrends Tactical Combat finger groove grips...they are an almost perfect grip for the 2.5" K-frames and look great too.

I don't think anyone who frequents this section of the forum will ever have anything negative to say about 2.5" K's...

thanks...will give em a try....these feel pretty good, and this is a very accurate gun, but if it can get better, then i will deff give em a try...
 
question ?

not exactly related to your question but, what is a s-w model 65,what frame,years of production etc thanks railroad
 
m 65

K frame .357 cal. Stl. steel made in 3" rnd. butt & 4" sq. butt.
Introduced as 65-1 in 1972.
Discontinued as 65-7 in 2005.
