S&W 36

I have a S&W model 36 that isn't a pinned barrel but it's a no dash in the model number.
Is this a factory mistake or did S&W drop the dash.
Serial number J930204

the S&W models 36 (tapered barrel) and 36-1 ( heavy barrel ) were manufactured concurrently

your model 36 was made in 1982...pinned barrels wew discontinued in 1982

They just quietly phased it out and there is no engineering change (dash number) specifically associated with the dropping of the pinned barrel.
