Hi, wanted to see if someone could help me to determine the age of this gun. It was my Grandpa's. he was a cop way back when. The number on the butt of the gun is 446704. On the hinge of the gun it has 72873. Then right below that it has either a G or a 6 then 55. If anyone can tell me the age and ballpark value I would appreciate it very much. It's in great shape with original grips.

Need more information. 5 shot/6 shot, barrel length? Round butt/square butt?

Welcome to this forum. It's a Mod 36 Chiefs Special made in 1966 and should have a flat larch release for the cyl and a diamond around the grip screw hole.
