Hey, need info on this 32 cal revolver. Trying to find a weapon for my wife. Major issues would be ease of function; trigger pull and kick/noise. ?? Wife is petite with very small hands too. For her skill level semi's out of the question, was thinking of the 32 cal airweight/ hammerless. Any feedback would be appreciated, as I only use M&P and Kimber.

PS_ what is the normal trigger pull aand can I lower it to around 5lbs?

Not sure how much the new MIM triggers and hammers can be worked to reduce the weight of pull on that model..I have a 431 that is bone stock but of course as a plus size male it is easy for me to handle..I know that the pound level of a factory piece is suppose to be not less than 8 pounds in double action and 3.5 in single action..at least that was what the Armorer School put out..I would think that your wife would love that model and would be able to control it with ease..all5x

I would look for a 642 or a 640 if she is extremely recoil sensitive. With 148 wadcutters, the 642 is quite soft on recoil and the reduced cost of .38 Special compared to .32 Magnum would encourage practice. Also, the .32 Magnum is a fairly high pressure round if I recall. That's a factor that bothers some recoil sensitive shooters.

Be sure to have the action worked on by S&W or a qualified gunsmith. A smooth action will really help her get hits on target.

Best bet is to find someone that will let her try a 642 with wadcutters. If that is too much, then try a 640 (heavier) with wadcutters. Just remind her that, if the test gun action has not been smoothed, action work will make the gun much easier to shoot.
