S&W 4506 Triple K Magazines?

I was looking for magazines for my S&W 4506 and came across this site:
SMITH & WESSON 4500 / 4506 / 645 SERIES, .45ACP, 8 RD: - Triple K

I have heard of Triple K magazines for 1911's, but never for the S&W 4506 (series). Anyone use these or have any hands on information or experience with them?

Triple K and 8 round Promags are junk. There are mixed reviews on the 10 round Promags, buyer beware. Most aftermarket mags for the 4500 series are terrible. Stick with factory if you can. I know they are getting expensive, but keep checking the local gun shows.

Found two factory 4506 mags Sunday for $30 each. They made no pretense of them being new and did not bargain. I bought them and put them deep in my pocket.

I have a Star model PS 45 acp that came with one magazine .
Very few aftermarkets for that one but Triple K made them , I had
heard they weren't the best manufacturer on the planet but ordered
one , only game in town . It has worked just fine , the follower is shaped differently than factory but it has never given any feeding problems . I feel it is well worth the $'s paid for it . I would buy from them again .

Triple K specializes in making magazines, often for pistols that are long out of production. They are of very dubious quality in my personal experience. Materials are often second-rate and quality control is marginal at best. Glad you had a good outcome.

Simply google S&W 4506 Magazines, you will get several hits for factory magazines. If there is any choice for any type magazine other than Pro-Mag or Triple-K then buy it. Both Pro-Mag and Triple-K have serious quality issues in my direct experience!

I have tried the ProMags in both 8 round and 10 round variety for the 645/4506 family. My experience is the 8 round magazines are questionable. They fed with no problems but I experienced a base plate failure. The 10 round magazines have about 1500 to 2000 rounds through them with no problems. They feed well and are holding up nicely. However, for serious work I would only consider the Smith and Wesson magazines. I bought as many as I could find/afford because they seem to be getting harder to find. And it will likely not get better with these older 45 models becoming more popular.

Parts are still available from Numrich. The mag catch plate seems to be the hardest to find. I found a bunch on Ebay. The 4506 plates cal be trimmed down to fit 10xx mags as well.

Just had a look. They have the catch plates in stock! For half what I paid on Ebay...
