S&W 4533

Any members own or se a 4533 with the de-cocking lever like the 1076 10mm?

Never heard of a 4533, but S&W did make a 4526 (fullsize with 5" barrel) & 4576 (fullsize with 4.25" barrel) with the decocker lever like the 1076. There is a 4526 on GB now, but fairly pricey given it's limited production--don't see any 4576's on GB at the moment.

I have never seen a 4536 ever, the only time I have seen that number is on sale ads for magazines and grips. Had to do a Google search to find this rare beast, here are a couple of the better pics that I found.

The bottom pic is of one that sold on auction for $450 back in 2009--someone stole that at that price.

Gman, I have a 4536. Paid about $550 For it earlier this year. It is mint. It's a very neat piece. My only complaint is that the de-cocker and slide release are too close together. They, like many of the de-cocking smiths were only made for one year, 1991. They are rare, but fortunately, many people don't much about them so sometimes they can sit in a dealers case for awhile.

Fuzzy, thanks for the post. Glad you mentioned about the decocker & slide release as I never thought of that just looking at it. Would love to see some pics of your 4536 if you got em.

Happy to share. Here's the photo. You can tell by the picture that the slide stop and de-cocker sit very close together. To be fair though, I am left handed and work both with my index finger. May be no big deal for the thumb of the right handed.

I'm considering a BNIB 4536 that's at my LGS right now.

I was also concerned about the closeness of the slide stop & decocker. Then it occurred to me that I would never be operating the decocker with the slide locked back anyway.

Really does look like a great CCW if we ever get "Shall Issue" in my county. I like the idea of no slide mounted levers to get moved around.

Does anybody offer aftermarket grips for those? I wouldn't think 4516 grips would work?

I have this one (4536) pictured with its 2 smaller brothers (4053 and 4014)
Almost identical in size, the 4536 of course is stainless steel frame, not alloy. Picked it up at a show last year for 500. Great gun.
