Just ordered the above gun. Looking for advise on scopes (if any), shooting tips and ammo. My closest experience to this gun is the Desert Eagle. I shoot both 44 mag and 50 AE, with both 6" and 10" barrels and a Leupold VX-3 Handgun 2.5-8x32mm scope on my Desert Eagles.

My purpose for this gun is piracy protection on my sailboat. I want to be able to reach out and touch a boat hull at 150 yards, if need be. Also to take out their engine and hole their hull, rather than taking aim at any crew.

Scopes are a problem acquiring the target at sea, compared to stock sights. For this reason, I'm not going to scope this gun, but try to do without it.

Any advise??

Leupold VX-3 Handgun 2.5-8x32 would be my first choice for scope.

I would shoot the 200 grain Barnes Copper bullets under conditions you describe. Will be the flattest shooting.

The 460 will be able to reach out well over 200 yards effectively.

The 300 grain XTP MAG will have around 16 to 18" drop at 200 yards.

Congrates on your purchase.

Good luck and be safe

Usually its about taking out a bear, I think this is the first time someone wanted to kill a boat.

I would probably mount a good red dot sight, and use hard cast flat nose bullets for clean holes & penetration.

Sounds like the job of a good .30 cal semi-auto, with a pump shotgun loaded with 00 buck for close and personal.

Admittedly I don't have any experience with boatjacking , but those requirements sure seem to say *Rifle* to me . And a folding stock carbine wouldn't be much different in OAL to a 14in bbl X Frame.
