S&W 460 XVR Range Report

I finally got my new S&W 460 XVR 3.5" to the range. I had Underwood 360 gr. LBT-LFN. I put 25 rounds thru it. Needless to say, it put a big grin on my face, and I noticed that customers on the other side of the window gathered at my end, and I made two new friends. It was very manageable, but I must admit, It is a handful, no doubt.. It is also quite accurate at 21'. I think it packs a harder punch than the 500 mag.

I hate to tell you this but shooting a 460XVR at 21 ft. is a waste of good ammo. You could just take some bare-naked bullets and hand throw them accurately at 21 ft. You need some wide open space to test drive that gun.

S&WIowegan, I am going to take it outside on Sunday for a better test drive. I just wanted to see how it handled at the indoor range.

yfdcap. Thanks, here is a picture of the 460XVR and my 500 mag. Both are are definite handfuls. I am on the way to the woods to really test drive both.

I love that 460. The 500 is very nice too.

I've shot a 500 with an 8 3/8" barrel. Not terrible but you know you got a hold of something!
