S&W 586 not hitting the primer hard enough

Bought a 586-1 a week ago shot a box of reloads 38 wad cutters
with CCI primers and they worked fine. Reloaded some more with winchester primers and they only fire about half the time. I'm wondering is there a way to adjust the gun to hit the primer a little harder

Check the set screw on the grip, odds are someone loosened it up for a lighter trigger. Tighten it up all the way.

I've also seen them ground down, so they could be tightened but still have the same effect. It's worth removing the screw to have a look at the end.
