Hi to All and Merry Christmas Need the collective opinion on a S&W mod 5904 Have hooked up with one that the owner says is in 98 condition complete with everything from the factory Shot only couple of mag and sat in safe for 25yrs Anything to look for on condition Looks good in pictures has extra SS mag What would a fair price in this condition complete. Various price checks are all over the place depending on if cop trade in or used Have intentions of purchase tomorrow at 11 Thanks KFF41

I am wearing a 5904 right now. Got it at the LGS, 1 mag in almost like new condition. Paid $375 out the door. I really like it, shoots great, eats anything I feed it.

I would agree with the $400 dollar threshold for price. Extra magazines are not hard to come buy. If it has sat for that long, I would advise a field strip and good oiling before taking it out to the range. Good luck. If you get it, be sure to post pictures.

Forgot to mention the price $375 I agree with T-Bird but very expensive weekend at local gun show A SS marlin 60 with laminate stock and scope followed me home and it had a friend A Model 67-1 in 98 condition complete with all the stuff from the factory tagged along LOL Then I run across this Life is so ruff

I've got a lot of rds thru the 5904. It was our issued duty gun for several years before the dept went to Glock. They're a great gun. Light (for its size) and a great shooter.
Sorry can't help on the price. I haven't been paying attention what they're bringing.

Last time I saw a good one it was $425 with an extra mag and a lanyard! The last bit threw me too! I've never seen a 3rd Gen with a lanyard ring attached to it.

That is an excellent buy. The days of buying these in the condition you describe is quickly coming to an end.

$375 for an excellent condition 5904 with the factory goodies is one of those deals you will be kicking yourself over if you don't buy it.

Well I took the collective advice and drove 45 miles round trip to look at it Was as good as it was described Only 1 very small scratch on the frame Hardly noticeable and complete with everything that it left S&W with down to the orange empty chamber plug. So will not be posting the location to the group LOL The guy had multiple calls on it but were from people wanting it for flipping/cheep And he wanted it to go to someone that was a collector Maybe can wrap it up and give to wife for xmas Would post picts but do not know how Thanks to all who helped me spend more of my money/gave advice Merry Christmas to all

You made a great decision. Your wife will love the 5904, its a great shooter. I put Novak Fiver Optic sights on mine, Red Front, green 2 dot rear and a Crimson Trace LG-359 laser on mine.....what a combination. BY the way, a Nylon Blackhawk holster Size 06 fits like a glove and it has a mag pouch. Only 19.95 at Walmart. The box says fits Glock 19/23, Springfield XD and similar.
