Picked up a used 625-6 Mountain Gun .45 Colt off of an auction site ,appeared to be unfired came with box and all papers. Not even a turn line on it, course I had to shoot it , very nice shooting. Now to work up some cast loads with Keith type 255 grain SWC. Paid way too much but have been looking for a while .

S&W M.G.

Congratulations on a fine Revolver. I like
the Mountain Gun series. To me they are
the Ultimate Classic.

I have the Mdl 625-6 45Colt like yours. I
really enjoy shooting it and its always in
the Range Bag.

Next I would like to add the 41Rem Mag
and so on and so on.

Also my 44Rem Mag

I love the Mountain Guns!

I have a 4” 629-4. It’s awesome.

You didn’t pay too much. You’ll get more money. But the gun you bought, that’s a finite quantity. They don’t make em like that anymore, and never will.

Well Done! I want to see how it shoots. Report back.

I ordered & bought one of those new when they came out in the mid 90's or so. It was my sidearm during all of my excursions in the woods for several years. Even shot a nice buck with it.

Unfortunately, I had the thought to trade it off (to a fellow member) for a S&W 1006 several years ago. (dumbarse I know) The 1006 is gone too, and my hankering for the Mountain Gun remains.

I do have a 25-5 and a Scholfield in 45 colt now, but the Mountain gun is still on my want (back) list.

Congratulations on the find! Consider me jealous............

I, too, have a Model 625-6. Mine is chambered for my preferred cartridge, the 45 ACP. I regularly use 45 Super reloads in it. Both are great revolvers and with judicious reloading, the best!

The first handgun I bought with my own money was a 625-6 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt. I ordered one as soon as I heard they were coming out in the spring of 1996. Cost me $424, which was a lot of money for me at the time. It remains one of my all time favorite revolvers, and I’ll never part with it.

I am another proud owner of a 625-6 45 Colt. Bought mine NIB/NOS about 6 years ago for $1,000. Came magnaported. Haven’t shot it as much as I would like.

I also have one and it is one of the most accurate guns I own. It'll put all 6 in one ragged hole punching out the X of the target. Mine wears a set of RB GA combats and in my opinion looks and feels better with them. I just had a great range session with it today putting it through some d/a practice.
