So I pick up a beautiful S&W 629-2 mountain revolver last week from the original owner, with box, paperwork and cleaning kit. When I was purchasing it, it looked spotless. So I made the deal and took it home. When I got home I immediately took off the grips and there was surface rust on the frame under the grips... I was so upset, because the rest of the gun was flawless. I got most of it off, but there is still blackish spots in the metal where the rust was. So my question to the group would be, should I sent it to S&W to re-bead blast it? Or leave it how it is? Or is there anything else I can do? I don't want to make it less valuable than it kind of is. I know it's worth less now there are the spots in the frame under the grip. Please help. Thanks in advance for the info!
