Just purchased a 629-3 44 mag w/6 1/2 bbl any one have any recomendations for ammo? I shot some PMC 180 gr JHP seemed to shoot erratically. (mostly low) at 25 yds .

Well, it kinda depends on your usage. I just sat down from re-sighting in a 629-4 with 280 grain BearTooth hardcast reloads, as I'm going fishing in Griz country Sunday.

If you're just "plinkin" and don't reload; the Blazer 240 grain JHPs seem to shoot well --- also the Red Box Black Hills 240 grain JHPs are good ammo.
 
Just went out and shot some Federal Premium 240 gr JHP shot very well, pretty consistant. Yea, I just love shooting. Im a plinker and possibly gonna deer hunt with the 629 this fall.
 
180's are on the light side for 44 Mag, id stick with 240's as a general rule and try whatever is on sale. Your gun should shoot everything just fine. Id try the major brand target lines such as American Eagle, USA and UMC stuff too.

Thanks for the replies. Any one want about 25 rds of 180 gr. 44 mags?? Ill stick with the 240 grs i think
