Looking for info on the 629&29dx. How many dash numbers were mfc in the 29 I know the 629 was made with #3-4-5-6 but no info on the 29 the only one I know in the 29 was-3. would also like to know how many each 29 and 629 in the 5&1/2" were made.

29 Classic DX models were only made under the 29-5 and 29-6 variants. There were some -7 variants of the 29 but I have never seen a 29-7 Classic DX.

No 5.5" DX Revolvers but they did make 5"

The 5" DX models were only made one year and only in the 29-5 and 629-3 variants.

No idea on total numbers made of 5" Classic DX models made. The 29-5 classic DX 5" is more rare than the 626-3 Classic DX 5" so I think it is safe to say that there were fewer of the 5" DX 29's made. Same can be said for the 6.5 and 8 3/8 inch DX revolvers.

Sorry im computer stupid don't know how to post pic.

Grip frame have you ever seen a 29-6 if so does it have the IL?

29-6 was the last variant before MIM hammer and trigger, blued twin brother of the 629-4 variant.
29-7 had the MIM hammer and trigger and frame mounted firing pin but no lock-only seen a few, blued twin brother to the 629-5.

Picture is of a recently purchased 29-6 6"

I will give you a call.

Jon

So after more research I need to correct my earlier statement that 29 classic DX models were made under the -6 variant. I thought I had seen one in the past but I was mistaken.

The last year that the 29 Classic DX appeared in a catalog was 1992. The 29-6 did not come out until 1994. Even if a few 29 Classic DX's were made into 1993 they still would have been -5 variants.
