Been wanting a pocket gun for a while. Someone local is selling a s&w 637 airweight for 320.00 looks to be in excellent shape and says he fired about 200 rounds through her, Is this a good deal and would this make a good pocket gun?

Not a bad price.
For pocket carry, I'd go with a 642 or 638.
The exposed hammer could get caught in the pocket more easily.
In a cargo pocket, it would work fine.

Great pocket gun. Lightweight and a hammer if needed. I have one and love it. That is a very good price. You might also consider a model 38/638 too. But if you have a bead on a 637 at $320 I would run over there before they sell it or change their minds.

thanks guys I already gonna meet him tomorrow, just wanted to make sure its good for pocket. I wear a lot of athletic shorts and not too baggy jeans, so it should be fine.

Since I make my own holsters, I can't reccomend a brand. I'm sure the others here'll chime in with suggestions.
I kept mine simple, it just needs to hold the gun upright, cover the trigger and stay in my pocket when I draw my snubby.

Bell Charter Oak is my preferred holster for Pockett carry. They make a few different models but all are amazing quality

Great gun...and great price, IMO. One thing you should look for: open the cylinder and look under the barrel where it joins the frame. Make sure there is no crack there. A small % of the lightweights have cracked frames due primarily to the barrel being initially over tightened.

well here it is

cost me 320.00 and looks in great shape with box and all papers and even had the insides polished but not stoned or anything

That is a steal. Very nice job on that. besides a great little J frame you bought at a price that if you don't like t for some reason you can sell it for more than you bought it.
A Galco #3 or 4 will work fine as a pocket holster. I think it's a #4. They are inexpensive and will work all the time or until you get a custom one made.

thanks I'll check out those galcos, they make nice holsters

You just can't beat a j-frame! You got a good deal on that 637. I prefer my vintage Chiefs, but they're all so small & handy that there's no excuse not to have one on you at all times. I don't mess with the trigger/hammer engagement surfaces, just polish the rebound slide & adjacent surfaces and install a lighter (13#) rebound spring. I leave the stock 8-1/2# mai spring alone for reliability. I also like to bob the hammer for snag-free operations.
