S&W 642 FRAME CONDITION

MY 642'S FRAME IS STARTING TO PEEL FROM HOLSTER WEAR. HAS ANYONE TRIED TO POLISH THE ANADIZED FRAME ON AN AIRWEIGHT? IT IS ONLY PEELING AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE TRIGGER GUARD. HELP PLEASE? THANKS

Mine from 96 has couple of worn through areas on the frame from much toting. I don't worry about it.

I read someplace that some cleaning products would damage the "clearcoat" finish on 642's. Has anyone experienced this?

Haven't experienced it but I'm not going to be soaking my new 642 in Hoppes.

I read a lot about people having their finish peel off before I bought mine and some said cleaning solvents like Hoppes was the cause. I still used it to clean the barrel and cylinder but I made sure not to get it on the aluminum.
