Some years back I purchased a 646 .40 cal revolver on a whim. I never really carried it much, as I didn't have a holster that fit it properly. A few months back, I saw one for sale on an internet website that was $1750.00 !! I only paid about a fourth of that when mine was new. It still is new...
I asked the guy selling it why so much, and his reply was that since they were only made in 2000 and 2003 they had become collector's items(true or false?). Amazingly--the gun sold ! I went to check 646 prices this week, and was unable to find any more model 646s anywhere online for sale...Are they THAT rare? Are they THAT hard to find? Do they sell for THAT much? If so, I am glad I didn't carry mine. I have a slew of .38s, .357s, .45ACPs, and others that will fit the bill just fine for me. I could use some recession money right about now...:D
If the 646 is a true collector's item now, what is a fair price to charge for one in the metal case w/factory paperwork, hangtags, manuals, 2 dozen moon clips, loading tools, etc.? Test fired only...Enquiring minds want to know!
Thanks to any and all who answer this. I am a shotgun guy and a know nuthin 'bout handguns and their prices...
Ergo:Help is much appreciated.
As always,
Shoot well and safely folks,

I think it is collector but not that much of one. Login to gun broker and search under completed auctions and see what they are selling for

Dayum! I sold mine last year for only $1k!?!? It had all the goodies yours has. I hate when I sell too soon.

Recent prices I've seen run in the $850-$1200 range ($1750 is nuts, IMO), depending on condition and whether it's a PC or non-PC gun. There were 400 PC guns made in 2000 and 300 non-PC guns made in 2003. The non-PC model has a full underlug barrel.

Price yours to sell and post it here in the classifieds and it won't last long.
