S&W 649 no dash

In original box looks like was not even fired at factory mint. But number on grip not same as serial number? Was just a part number used at times on grips???

Very nice Model 649. Thanks for sharing it with us. Probably shipped in 1985, the first year of the model. The company stopped using matching serial numbered stocks in about 1982.

The stocks are from a J-frame (Bodyguard or Chiefs Special) from about 1973-74, the gun's serial number would have been J181200.

Here's my 1985 Bodyguard Model 649; you can see your stocks are the same style.
