S&W 66-1 Question

I have a S&W 66-1 stainless, 4"bbl, target stocks, red ramp front sight. The box is marked "Product Code 102706" and "Spec Order 8189". The Serial Number is BAPXXXX. I can't find any mention of that Serial Number in Jim Supica's book. Does anyone know anything about this pistol with the serial number prefix "BAP"? Thanks, Bill

Your gun was shipped in 1988. That box doesn't match with the serial number. Are you sure you have the right box for that gun or is it for another?
wrecker all serial numbers are not listed in the book, you have to sorta read between the lines.

My bad! I could have sworn I had matched the gun to the box. I didn't. Apologies for running you in circles. Anyway the serial number on the revolver crane is 53K12XX and my book gives a mfg date of 1978/79. I still wonder about the BAP prefix on the box. But that's a question for another day.
