I'm picking up a 4" model 67 today. It looks to be in great shape. This will be my first 67 in my collection an in doing some research I read that the model 67 is just a stainless model 15. Is that pretty accurate? If so, I'll be pretty happy as I really like the feel of my 14-3 and with target grips on both, they should be pretty similar in feel, right? It looked like it had a pinned barrel as well.

Thanks for any info you guys can share on the matter!!

I'll post pictures as soon as I have it.

My 67 no dash is from 1973, with all stainless rear sights. Later guns had blued rear sights. They are fine shooters. What's there not to like? Enjoy your 67, my wife took mine over. Oh well, I have other stuff. If she shoots, she doesn't complain when I make purchases! Bob

The Model 67 and Model 15 are great revolvers so you can't go wrong.

I just shot the 67 along with my 14-3, 29-2, 629 3", 629 6" and my 36-1. The model 14-3 and the 67 were my favorites. I love all of them though!! I did have an issue though with my 8 3/8" 29-2. The hand doesnt turn the cylinder every time the hammer is cocked in DA or SA. I thought maybe the tip of the hand was chipped, but both the hand and the extractor looked to be in fine shape. Any ideas guys?? I may post this issue in it's own thread.

Do the stainless sights add or detract from the value of a 4" Model 67? Mine is a no-dash number, pinned and recessed weapon with factory wood stocks. Can you anyone give me a rought idea of its value? It would rate around 90%.

My first revolver and first S&W was a 67-1 marked for the Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport Police. It shoots like a laser, seems to have had a "duty tune" and it's super slick. I fired 1,000's of rounds through it and it gave me my love of the .38 Special cartridge.

Congratulations on your new Model 67, and welcome to the Forum. Just a heads up, but as a .38 Special, the cylinder on this Smith wouldn't be "recessed," but given its early feature of stainless sites, the barrel would/should be pinned. As for the sites, they are of some interest to collectors and may add some value, but disliked by shooters due to the glare they create. So, not much of a difference in the end. The value on yours may vary, but the last M 67 I parted with for $450 - to give you a ballpark figure. Again, welcome and congrats on a fine revolver.
