Was the 908 ever produced in a two tone? I just bought one yesterday in a local pawn shop that has a blued slide and a SS frame. Wondering if someone put a 908 blued slide on it.

The sights are Novak steel 3 dots, the guide rod is steel, didn't check the mag release. Maybe from a 3913/14?

Got it for $220 without a magazine....I have plenty of those for my 3913 so no big deal there.

What do you eagle eyed forum members think?

It sounds like somebody was playing mix 'n match and somewhere out there is a stainless slide on a 908 blued frame. I've looked at a number of S&W catalogs and never seen a two-tone advertised although I am sure there are always exceptions. In any case, you got a good pistol for a good price - congrats.

908

yep - sounds like a kit gun. Never seen any illustrations of a 2 tone 908. but for 220 it's a deal - even w/o mags

they did make a 908 S (stainless) though so it could be a combo of true 908 parts

According to the SCSW, the two tone was made in 1997. I have all three variations in my collection along with with all three variations of the 410 and 457.

Wow! I had no idea they made a two tone. Cool! Thanks for correcting us. Would love to see pics of your 410 and 457 collections.
