i picked up a 2 tone 910 in great shape for 200 bucks and was wondering about threaded barrels and mostly drop in upgrades. and a little info about this fire arm. thanks you!

Welcome to the FORUM! I am not familiar with that model but I think it was intended to be a budget model. I have a Gen 3 5906. I have never read unfavorable comments about 908's & 910's. Good luck finding a bunch of aftermarket items for these guns. Personally, would shoot it as it is if everything functions properly. $200 is a wonderful price for the condition you stated! Shoot, & enjoy it! Bob

Welcome from Louisville. Stick around after you get your answers. This is a great forum.

I wish I had the money to pick up that pistol--it's a terrific price and a highly-regarded gun.

The 908's, 910's (etc) were the budget line of Smith pistols when they came out. Fit and finish isn't as high a priority on them, and they should have a few plastic parts (like the guide rod) that the other models don't.

As alluded to above, the aftermarket has mostly given up on these older pistols and shifted their attention to the current models. At this point, it's even hard to find OEM parts as S&W threw in the towel and pretty much abandoned us.

I don't believe S&W made a two-tone 910, yours may have been pieced together from a 910S. Any pics?

Does it have 910 sights or a right side safety? My local cop shop has had a few switched-around guns.
