It is an excellent combat handgun that will do whatever you need. I believe that it is second generation (3 digit model number). This website may help:

The website shows the 910 as second generation, and the 910 is extremely close to the 915. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

According to the SCSW, both the 915 and the 910 were third generation guns. I guess the three/four number thing went out with the "no-frills" models.

The 915/910 as well as the 411/410 are all third generation guns. They were the "economy" version of the 5904 and 4004. With the AWB of '94 they came with a 10rd mag and they changed some of the machining to reduce cost, added a few more plastic parts.
 
For those who actually shoot their Model 915 pistols, can anyone tell us which are the plastic parts? Can those plastic partd, other than the grip, be replaced with metal parts?
