Just got a new 986 on Friday. It is accurate and reliable. Moon clips load and unload easily. Getting more moon clips SS from TK Custom along with a loading tool. A really fun 9mm shooter at the range! Dennis

We need a picture!!!!!!!

I'd like to have one but it still hasn't gotten on the California approved roster.

Pictures please. I wish they'd make it with a 3" barrel, I'd have to have one.

Never done a picture on a forum but I'll try tomorrow. I've got several good CCW guns but sometimes it's fun to just get a range fun gun.

Real feedback

Good to hear a report from a real owner. Further details (ammo, recoil etc) and pictures would be appreciated. As a recent revolver convert from 9mm s/autos the 986 is of real interest. The clever part would be getting one into NZ sometime in the next decade !

I just used my 986 in a bowling pin match this morning. Did very well. I reload Dardas 124gr round nose with 4.5g Unique. Slugged the barrel and Dardas said it need .357 bullets so that's what I ordered. Put a Wolff standard spring kit in it with the 13# rebound spring. I shoot it double action all morning long!

Answers to above:

I paid $1029 out the door at my LGS.

So far I have only shot Georgia Arms 115 gr. FMJ rounds in my 986.
Tomorrow or Monday I'll try a few Speer Gold Dot HPs and see how they fly.
