I feel much safer with a J-frame and it's much more concealable.

I love S&W but don't care to advertise to much.;)

I sure see their names ona lot of knives, even saw oninthe local dollar general store for 6 bucks, I looked twice, and sure enough had the bonifide s@w logo on the blade.

Slumpy, it must be a made in China knife, I would think the real thing would be stamped: S&W. :)

If you post a thread in the Collectibles forum, I believe you'd find some interested in belt buckles. From what I understand, some are quite valuable but there are a lot of cheap knockoffs out there, too. You want to look for those produced by certain makers.

pharman, Yes, S&W belt buckles are very collectable. There's usually one or two good displays at every annual meeting of the S&WCA. Get a copy of the small paperback book by Pete Roberts, " The Buckles of Smith & Wesson" if you can. It gives a lot of the history. There are dozens of S&W produced and authorized buckles and many times that many of unathorized rip offs, usually made in China, India or Pakistan. Bergamot Foundry is a S&W licensee, authorized to make many of the S&W buckles seen onEbay, which is always a good place to watch as that will educate you on S&W buckle values. Prices can range from $5 on copies to several hundred on rare silver or gold S&W factory buckles. Bradshaw Exchange is currently producing a nice series of S&W buckles, under license. Check their web page. Current production factory buckles can be viewed online at the S&W webpage link to accessories. Ed.

S&W Belt buckles

Thank you all very much for your help...I appreciate it...My cousin came across quite a few of these in one of his storage units...I will have to see what all he has...

Try and take pictures of all of them and post here so we can all see which ones they are. Like guns, condition is a big factor. NIB many will be in the $20 - $30 price range.

S&W Knife and Cleaning it.

I have an S&W knife that has corrosion on the brash and the lacquer is worn off in one small spot. Otherwise it is flawless. If you clean and fix these areas will it hurt the value of the knife?

Buckle Collectors, I mentioned in my earlier post on this thread that the Bradford Exchange would be issuing a new series of S&W belt buckles. I have now been informed that they dropped the program. No reason given, however I suspect it was a disagreement with S&W over licensing fees to use the S&W logo, etc. Too bad, as the series of about 24 buckles were very nice looking, each buckle featuring a different model.
