S&W Bodyguard 38, any problems??

And you've been in contact with S&W, right?

Yes Bob. The day after I purchased it and noticed the defect, I called S&W and spoke to a representative. I described in detail the problem and he emailed me a FedEx shipping label and told me to enclose a letter, describing (in detail) the problem I was experiencing. I shipped it out that same afternoon. After two weeks, I called to inquire about the findings. They told me they replaced the cylinder. Like I stated, it's still not functioning as it should.

Gee, folks,
After reading two pages of feedback, I am better armed than I was. I am an instructor. Student brought a .38 +P BG, of the lightweight kind. Similarly to the previous comments, I found the laser way off, the irons a bit off, and was not particulary happy with the trigger pull, BUT,
I'm pretty spoiled.
Student was not. Nothing bothered her but laser being off. I plan to adjust it this week for her and return to the range.
Thanks for alternate method of turning laser on.
I'll let you all know how this works out with this brand new shooter who wants home defense and concealed carry.

Picked one up used for $300 didn't look like it was even shot other then from the factory, I really wanted a 442 but picked up the BG 38 instead. After shooting it I didn't really care for the cylinder release location or the laser, my buddy wanted to trade his 442 for the BG so we made a trip to the gun shop and did some transfers and I couldn't be happier. The BG was a decent firearm but I'm liking the 442 better but that's just me.
