S&W Box

A friend of Mine has a S&W Bangor Punta box for a Model 38,
Blue, 2 inch barrel, ser#J293533. It has a sealed tool kit of a cleaning rod and brush, the top half of the warranty card and the S&W wax paper. There is some rust starting on the metal corners(they are all intact), there are no tears in the box, but there is some staining(I think) on the top, that I think will clean by someone who knows how. He is thinking of selling and would like to know what it is worth in a ballpark.

I wouldn't sell at a ballpark. I'd sell at a gun show or Online.

Seriously, you posted the serial number on the box. Someone here may own the gun. He'd probably pay more than most collectors. Good luck.

I agree with these numbers. I got one for my 15-4 on ebay and paid 25$. No tools.
