S&W Caliber Plaques?

Does anyone have an idea if these were offered by S&W and what they were used for? I bought 2 sets on a whim.

I never seen those before but I think they are great. Something that was made years ago? I would get a couple too if they are fairly cheap.

They were offered by two sellers on ebay. I Don't know if are still available, there was 6 calibers offered.
