S&W Clamp on muzzle brake

I hope this is okay to post here. I have what I think is 38 calber clamp on muzzle brake made by S&W. I have seen these for the 45 caliber acp but can find no info about any other calibers. Would appreciate any info. Not sure how to post a photo yet.

My gun show neighbor, KenL has a M-14 with the brake. You out there Ken?

They were made in 32, 38, and 45.

Did they also make one for the K-22, or did I dream that one up on my own? In the height of the Bullseye Days they made one for the S&W Model 41 and the High Standard Supermatic semi autos. Those BE shooters would do anything to gain a little edge!

Hmm. The first time I was aware there was such a thing as a removable K-38 muzzle brake.

No. That's why I said 32, 38, and 45.
They did not make them in 44 or 10mm either.

I have seen them on a few K38's for sale. What years were they produced?

Was looking through my 1960’s catalogs awhile back for another research project, and the 2 larger calibers were listed in most of those. IIRC.
