This is old news for members in attendance, and it's a spur in
the side to those who've not yet joined the association.

I heard there were 60 displays this year, everything from the
first known Smith & Wesson, Model 1 serial number 5 to a table
of new Smith & Wesson products, including the .32 Magnum UC
guns.

There were lots of two-tone guns on multiple display tables --
more than you see in the wild in a lifetime! Also there was a fair
representation of scratched up guns.

Bill Cross's spread of first-year .44 Magnums was, well,
stunning. Each one's condition looked as though it was made
yesterday.

My display was the DRAGNET Chiefs, complete with the 1954
movie posters, the factory invoice, Dr. Jinks' letter and other
correspondence that offers the complete ownership trail for Jack
Webb's Chiefs Special.

Special thanks to demkofour for shooting these photos.

OK, I guess I’ve been under a rock too long. What is a 32 Magnum UC? You had me at “32”.
Froggie

That'd be the .32 H&R Magnum version of the "Ultra-Carry" (similar to a 442 but Scandium frame I believe) that was talked about on Thursday's presentation by Andrew Gore. He was discussing new products from S&W.

Froggie, where have you been? You missed all the hype a few months back! The latest and greatest Centennials were a special order from Lipseys
632UC, 432UC, 642UC, and 442UC with the fixed sights, just like your TWO 632-2 guns! Time to buy some more Centennials!

Hey Bob, I sure hope you won an award for that display! For those of us who remember the show, very well, the picture of the display brings back memories of our youth!

Well, sort of.

The ones it's wearing are laminated Dymondwood, not rosewood.

You may remember, I offered you a nice rosewood set from a Ladysmith, but I think you said the length of the grip was a little wrong for your application?

That is an absolute FINE display. Beautiful guns....I will say that dark rosewood and engraving is museum quality.

Being a militaria collector for decades, the style and font of the engraving reminds me of a few of the WW2 era Purple Heart medals that were engraved on the rear with the soldier's name.

Top shelf display that is museum quality.

Thank you very much. Lots of fun putting it together.

No awards, Joe, but that's not the point. I love the history.
