On Monday my 85 next door neighbor Sold me a S&W Model 19 Combat Magnum for $200.00. The s/n is BBU98XX. I am looking for what year it was made, and any other info you might be able to give me about.

DOB looks to be like late 1988

It should be stamped MOD 19-5 on the frame under the barrel. The 2.5" barrel version is most popular at present due to concealed carry, followed by the 4 then 6". It is a nice gun that should not be shot with large numbers of full-power .357 loads, but occasional use is fine. Enjoy!

Seriously, NICE revolver there. Something about a K that's magic and while the longer tubes are not as popular (for the reason previously posted), they sure are fun as all get out to shoot.

Great deal and a nice looking model 19. Like you I got lucky and fell into a 19-4 6 inch for $269 out the door. Most accurat revolver I own. You will love it.
