Wyo-man said it all quite nicely. You will be rocking. The only suggestion I would add is to get Big Dog's CS9 grips with the gator treatment.I have sent CS9 grip#1 back to its creator to get the nice updated treatment that started with it.......God Bless.....Mike

I beg to differ. If price isn't an issue, I'd go for the Colt Pocket 9. Smaller and lighter. The Colt Pocket Nine is about the same size and weight as a Kahr PM9. If the size and weight don't bother you, then I would go for the 3913. If size bothers you, but weight does not, then I would go for the Kahr MK9. Just one man's opinion. That's not to say the CS9 isn't a nice pistol.

I've been trying to locate a nice clean little S&W CS9 and having no luck around the central FL area, the online auctions, etc. Anyone in the Atlanta area know of any? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I think the 3913 is DA only isn't it. It has a decocker which I don't understand with a DA. Perhaps it's a DA/SA which makes sense with the decocker. Help!!!

I have both of them. The Colt is much smaller then the CS9. I have the Colt put up. They only made them a short while. It is a really nice gun. I like the CS9 just as well. Its a little harder to carry conceled though.

Yes, compared to a Colt Pocket Nine, the CS9 is a brick. The CS9 does have an external safety, and is DA/SA if that's an important factor for you. The Colt Pocket Nine is double action only.

FWIW:

I think a person considering the SW9 vs the Colt Pocket 9 should definitely HOLD and SHOOT both before making a decision.

I find the CS9 fits MY hands perfectly, but I've read time and time again where others might not find that the case.

I've never had the pleasure of holding or firing a Colt Pocket 9, but have read good things about them in the past.

I love my CS9, but didn't have the opportunity to shoot a Colt Pocket 9 beforehand so have no personal form of reference for comparison.

Try both, buy what works for you.

Go with what is most comfortable to you. We might be a little biased on this forum to a certain brand of gun, but that is because they are great guns. But really go with what fits your hand, carry conditions, price range, and shooting abilities. I personally have a 4040 for my summer concealed carry gun and it is great. It is essentialy a 3913 in 40 S&W cal. It fits my hands great and is easy for me to conceal. But that's just me.

I'd hold out for a 3953. Same as a 3913, just DAO. I had one for a short while, box and papers and all. Wished I had it back now.
