I have a few questions concerning a S&W Elite Gold 20ga O/U with 28" barrels I am considering buying. It is in very lightly used condition with all original paperwork. The barrels are choked IC/Mod, double trigger and straight English stock.
1. I've read that S & W no longer does warranty repair work on these shotguns. Is there anyone else that does the work for S & W.
2. Have the guns proven to be reliable or are there any common issues. It seems they had quite a following from forum members several years ago but a forum search doesn't produce any results for the last 3 or 4 years.
3. I've read CDNN and some other retailers were selling these shotguns NIB for $1200 after S & W discontinued production. What would be a fair price for the shotgun I described above today? Unfortunately I don't have pics I can post and Gunbroker has limited completed sales to compare.
Any info would be appreciated.
