S&W factory letters

I haven't requested one of these in awhile, so I'm wondering about how long it takes to receive a Smith & Wesson factory letter? In the old days, about 15 years ago or so, I know it took a few months to get one back. I've heard that time has been improved greatly. I was just wondering.

Also, is Roy Jinks still "da man" when it comes to writing them?

My turn around time a month or 2 ago was about 4-5 weeks. Of course, YMMV. Yes, Mr. Jinks is still the man.

Factory letter

Earlier this fall I requested letters from both S&W (2) and Colt (1). Roy Jinks had my 2 letters to me in about 6 weeks. But I think he was off for a couple of weeks in that same time too!

After 2 months, I got a postcard from Colt thanking me for my check and my order and advising me it would take another 100-120 days! And they charged $75! Ouch!

My hat is off to Mr Jinks!

Yes, the current turnaround from request to letter has been about 6 weeks on average. The last two I received took 3 1/2 weeks, mailbox to mailbox!

For what it is worth, I mailed a request on 10/26, and I haven't received a letter. I remember waiting several months in the past, so a few weeks doesn't bother me.

My turn around time for two Pre 29's was less than 4 weeks a few months ago.

7 weeks mailbox to mailbox

From Switzerland, I mailed five requests on October 23, 2009.
Mr. Jinks wrote them all on December 07 and I got them all together on December 12 in my mailbox. Great service!
