S&W Gen3 6946 DOB

Can anyone give me an approximate year when my 6946, serial # TFN38xx, was made ? I'm going to give S&W a call tomorrow, but thought I'd check here as well.

Hey sir - the only thing I have that is remotely close is a 6906 with TCD prefix - which is date-coded 9068 - so early 1989. By 1996 they had switched to V* serial prefixes. The TCD prefix has the older squared trigger guard. Not much help, I know, but some kind of an idea ...

My 6946 is TFN42xx and it was made in January of 1991

Don~Z~, since you had posted Jan.91 I was assuming it was Dec. 90 based on when yours was made.
