Not when it is so simple to re-form .308 brass into .300 Savage. I have never bought a single round of new factory .300 Savage for my rifles. Basically identical cases, except the .300 case necks are shorter and the headstamps are different. Problem with .300 Savage, it is an obsolescent cartridge, and factory ammo prices reflect that. Not that it is necessarily recommended or a good idea, .300 Savage ammunition works fine in .308 rifles.I don't see how $38.75 for 20 rounds of 300 Savage
is a "Stock Up" situation.
