I guess those of you on the S&W mailing list got their latest offer today for a free Viridian RFX15 Green Dot with qualifying purchase. They claim it's a $289 value.

I've never heard of a Viridian and wonder if anyone has experience with them?

The list of eligible SKU's looks pretty extensive - most all of their optic ready pistols. The only thing is, the RFX15 looks like a micro optic and it's the one S&W will give away for a full size pistol with tall sights. I'm looking at a SKU 14415, full size carry comp with optic-height sights and wonder how that's going to work?

I have a Viridian RFX 35 on my Competitor.
No complaints, I like it. Sort of a poor mans SRO.
Nice big window, and I prefer the green dot over red.

Viridian was know as a competitor to Crimson Trace in the laser grip market. They saw how popular micro reflex pistol optics had become, and jumped into that.

As a freebee, this optic would be good enough. It wouldn't be something I'd go out an buy. It doesn't have on feature I really want, which would be a battery that can be changed without dismounting the optic. There are too many now on the market that have that for me to buy one that doesn't.

I purchased one of their lasers from another member here. When it arrived, it didn't work. I called them and they said send it in along with $15 to cover shipping and they would fix it. I did, they did, and all has been good ever since. With customer service like that, I wouldn't hesitate to buy their products.

Yeah...now they do it...4 weeks after I bought my Shield Plus carry comp....what can I say?????

Garsh darnit don't get close.

According to Viridian's site, the RFX15 uses the Shield (RMSc) footprint. I'm not sure the SKU you listed includes a plate for it.

You may want to contact S&W CS to verify before you buy. Of course, you can always sell the sight to fund the one you want.

You bring up a good point - I thought I read that all full-size M&P 2.0's come with the C.O.R.E. plates now. I'll have to call and confirm.

My concern was how the tall optic-height sights would work with a micro optic on a full-size gun? I don't want the majority of the optic window blocked out by the sights. I've got three micro optics on micro-compact guns with standard sights and they give me the sight picture I want.

This is the link to their rebates: https://www.smith-wesson.com/rebates
There is a link to all the qualifying products linked on that page. Ironically mine is included but the store never mentioned it when I bought it. I found out by accident looking on their website after I bought it. You'd think that would be a selling point.

I had checked with S&W and they confirmed that all full-size optic ready M&P's come with the mounting plate and screw package now, and it was there when I picked it up the 14415.

It took about 4 weeks for the Viridian optic to arrive. I couldn't wait and put a CT RAD on before it came. The RFX15 looks like a pretty decent optic but it is a micro. I wish S&W would have given the RFX25 for full-size guns, it has the same MSRP.

It looked like S&W was doing a good job of identifying "REBATE" on all the eligible SKU's on their website. I've found that a lot of dealers aren't the greatest businessmen when it comes to making a sale. I ordered my FS CC from Gallery of Guns and the dealer I picked it up from didn't know about the rebate either.

Viridian was one of the 1st widely available green lasers.

I have the RFX45 (enclosed, ACRO-style) on my M&P 40 PC C.O.R.E.and just love it!

Cheers!

P.S. I, for one, don't really mind changing a battery every year, or so, regardless of needing to dismount the optic. Haven't really ever needed to "re-zero" a red dot on a handgun, but that's not a big deal for me as I have a laser bore sighter to help if and when I might.

Bought a Shield plus comp, got the Verdian…S&W was actually pretty darn quick for a rebate deal.
Less than 3 weeks from electronic submission to on my door step. Put a couple hundred rounds through it..no issues.
I took it off, put red back on. Pretty clear glass, pretty good dot, good for indoors. I just like red better for my eyes.

Good budget dot if green is your thing.

EXACTLY! I didn't know about the rebate until I checked Smith's website myself looking for what they said some specs were. Nobody mentioned it when I bought the firearm. You'd think it would be a decent selling incentive.

Smith wesoon scam rebate

I bought my qualifying 10 mm on line and my rebate got declined because i didnt have proper receipt, only receipt i can get is my online one, i bought it on March 11 and they said i didnt buy it in the proper time frame, even though it says feb to April. I think its a scam

Not a scam, but something you submitted they don’t like. I know the receipt for payment has to have the total you paid and the payment type (Visa, MC, cash, etc.)

I bought mine on March 1, submitted March 1, approved March 7.
Label created March 21st, shipped 3/24, arrived 3/26.

This was also in the email I received after submission on March 1:

You can also check your rebate status by calling 844-628-7926. Please be sure to have your tracking number available.

Read their instructions and follow them to the letter. I bought a qualifying purchase online and my first submittal was denied because the invoice, a pdf file, was in color and they considered it a screen shot and they requested I re-upload the invoice. I printed the invoice and scanned it in circling the qualifying item on the invoice as they instructed. It was approved up re-submittal last Friday. Now I'm just waiting for it to ship.

Definitely not a scam. I got mine a day short of 4 weeks after submitting everything online. Go to the online offer and read the terms and conditions spelling out the receipt content requirements. You also need to send a picture of the box label.

The T&C’s have this statement: “Any corrections to a submitted claim that was initially rejected due to incomplete, inaccurate, or illegible submissions, or that failed to include a valid and legible proof of purchase must be submitted by May 31, 2025.”

I just got the email my rebate was approved so I suspect that's a good sign.

Came here looking for this info and I found some great info. Thanks for the feedback on this rebate promo.

Darn, I just bought an FPC 10mm, but it looks like the rebate only extends to handguns:rolleyes:

Oh well…
