Anyone else notice that Leather, or other soft material holsters made for S&W, sig, and gocks all accept glocks smiths and sigs?!

I went holster shopping to day at cabelas for my G22.

They were out of Glock holsters *strange eh?*

So I picked up 2 others to look at.

A desantis pancake for a M&P full size.

And a Blackhawk Leather IWB for a Sig p229. * I own both guns so*.

I then saw the grey plastic glock 22 that shows off the features of the Serpa holster and said "hey why not"

I first shoved it in the IWB for the sig......Fit perfectly!.

Then i shove it in the pancake for the M&P......FIT PERFECTLY.

I ended up buying the IWB for my G22 because its really nice and was in the bargain cave for $30 marked down from $70.

When I got home I whipped out my 229 and my 6906 and all of my soft material glock sig and smith holsters and played a musical chairs of holsters if you will.

Every holster fit every gun , and every gun fit every holster. My 6906 square trigger even fit my Galco King tuck for my G32!!!!.

So....I've decided I am no longer shopping for model or manufacturer fit holsters. I am shopping for a holster that says M&P, Sig, Or glock.........for any of my Smiths, sigs or glocks.....because they all play well with each other . :-D

Blackhawk CQC Leather IWB made for a Sig P229/228 with a glock 22 riding perfectly inside :-D

Also 90% of Springfield XDM holsters will fit the glock and 3rd gen smiths as well :-)

I have a soft IWB DeSantis Summer...something. its made for the XD45 but fits, although not 100% perfect, my M&P45 and my 4566.

For a while i carried my G19 in a Crossbreed 5906 IWB.

Its uncanny how well they do fit though, all I had to do with this was tighten the tension bolt a bit and boom. Perfect holster.

Guy at cabela's said it was "dangerous" to carry in another holster and tried to sell me a cheapo galco Iwb for like $24. He didn't like it when i Told him that holster was dangerous because it was too flimsy and would find its way inside the trigger guard :-D haha Gotta love some people .

It can be dangerous. The part of the holster that rests inside the trigger guard (not sure how else to explain that) is made for one specific gun. Using a different gun you could inadvertently be pulling the trigger back enough to set it off during your daily routine. Its possible with the right material, holster and gun

I also have a OWB leather holster for an XD40 (ironically i never owned any XDs) that slides onto a belt and is very minimal (open top, open bottom). There's only enough leather to cover the trigger guard. My M36 snubby fits perfectly in it

Like this but less leather on top. More of a straight line. A Yaqui slide

Very true. But that is with a holster that has an injection molded or hand molded trigger guard :-D This one is flat :-D Which is why I was puzzled when the guy said that without even looking at the holster and pointed to one that there have been 5 AD's credited to haha

A Galco horsehide IWB holster I bought for a Glock 26 works equally well for my old SIG P225. Both pistols have similar squared-off trigger guards. The big shortcoming of this holster, BTW, is that it's thick, with it's heavily-reinforced opening and screw-off removable belt loops. It's at least 3/8" thicker than it needs to be, maybe more.

An old Kramer horsehide holster that I bought when the 225 was new is much thinner and is overall a much better made holster. I'm not going to risk stretching or otherwise damaging it by trying out the G26 in it.

I bet it would fit a 36 perfectly however due to the thin-ness :-D

I liked the Sig holster for my 22 because I tried a 21 on it and it was a snug fit. Meaning the 22 being thinner would fit perfectly once i tightened the tension screw. And it does. I can turn it upside down, shake it and it wont fall out, but its very easy to draw.

2nd Plus side of it was its used, and already worn in and nice and soft on the outside, No stiff leather wearing for my hips haha
