Good day Smith & Wesson-ites!
I have one of these sights (red dot) that I took off of a revolver that I bought many years ago and I am looking to sell it but cannot locate anything in the 'Collectible' section, nor Google (the know-all).
Anyone know of this sight and an approximate value? "Illuminated 1x30MM Red Dot Sight", S&W Model # SWRD 130, made in Japan.
Everything is in the box as it was new, but has been lightly used.
Any information is appreciated!
Thanks!
mike

I would guess it probably sold in the $80 - $100 range back then. Probably still a usable red dot. Does it say what size the dot is? It would be listed as MOA, probably somewhere between 2 and 8 MOA.

I have one of them and it’s a 3moa . Bought it used for around 50.00 about 20yrs ago . It’s been on various .22’s since I got it . It’s been a great optic for me ,but used price probably wouldn’t be much more then 50.00 IMO. People seem to think when your selling that it probably has been damaged because pistol scopes used to have a reputation of not holding up , maybe the cheap ones I don’t know. Anyhow I have a Tasco PDP3 red dot that has been on a M-29 for 30 plus yrs now which I would say is very similar. The new small red dots are all the rage now but I prefer the longer tubes especially for hunting . List it in the classifieds for what you think it’s worth as you don’t see them around as you can always drop the price or ask for a trade .

Thanks a bunch for the replies Gents!
I was actually going to ask $50 but I didn't know if it had any significant value as a 'collectible' Smith & Wesson piece.
It was VERY lightly used as I knew the previous owner of the 686 from which it was removed.
Stay safe and shoot straight!

Looks like maybe a re-packaged "Ultra Dot" brand? If it is, they are a quality sight. I have one that has been on my Redhawk for well over 30 years, and thousands of heavy rounds. Works fine.

Absolutely appears to be the same looking sight. And I too have an Ultra-Dot 'L/T' small sight that has seen some light use as well. Ultra-Dot is an excellent brand.
Thanks for the reply!
