S&W K-22

Hello out there needing some help knowing if this is a good purchase. I found a K-22 I believe that was made in 1953-55 and it has the correct gold box and original paper. All serial number match except the grips they are faint. Can someone with more experience please share some information, also I have attached pictures.
It's a GREAT purchase if YOU are happy! SWSC list prices are a guide but when you come across what you've been looking for, it's hard to digest 'well the SWSC seems to think I should only be paying xxx for this'. It works better for those buying as an investment. Just my two cents.

Here are some pictures after I received my elk stag handles today and put them on.
Those look great. They separate your pistol from the pack. Very nice.

As I stated in my PM to you, once the original numbered magnas are gone, they can't be replaced and your pistol was manufactured before target grips were introduced. I faced a similar decision on this pre27 (it had goodyears), and I went with smooth elk grips.
Yes, we both could have found period correct grips numbered to another gun, but these are more fun.
