Yeah, she is. If my brother's scanner and my laptop would shake hands, I'd post a picture of the target. The first magazine I fired through her from 10 yards, drawing from the holster, two shot strings is approximately 3 to 3.5" OA. I now can see just what all the hub-bub about Performance Center guns is about!

Videoed that segment of shooting. I have the raw video but I don't have the editing software to compress is on this PC.

Text and Pic Added

Here's a scan of one of my targets from last Sunday's outing. This was eight rounds (four each two-shot strings) from the holster, 15 yards, using Winchester 165 gr. FMJ. The flyer in the upper most right is the first shot, double action from the first string. I know that I definitely need more trigger time on this fine weapon.

Just for phoots and grins attached are a few range shots of me firing Loretta Windsucker...except I forgot to change the camera's setting from up-close to distance. As you can see, I was fending off very bright and in-your-eyes sunlight while shooting.

There are three .38 S&W (from my youngest brother's Enfield revolver, no less!) holes that were shot after my session.

flat back grip

OK JW you got me motivated again. I told you before I couldnt find any flatback grips for the doublestack shorty models and I really like the flat backstraps on my other S&W PCs and non PC models . So after reading your post I got buzy last night on a spare set of factory grips.
Heres how it ended up. Im pretty happy they feel great, the back is not really slick, and actually feels good. The bad part is now I want to do it for my other 9 and Shorty 40.
Just taped off the checkering on the side , used a couple different files and then went to 1" wide sand paper 220/400 and some sort of crokus ? cloth then a little oil and my thumb to smooth it out. Yes it took a while as I wanted to be careful, Bob
Oh yeah I put the grips on another 6906, then locked it down in a vise to support the grips while I worked on them, just taped a shop towel around it to keep the plastic dust out.
Toward the end I was worried about going through the plastic, but when I finished no soft spots anywhere, so I guess the plastic is fairly thick in the arched area.
This is my daily carry gun so it has a few battle/ or in my case, fall off the desk scars over the years.

Whoa, Bob! You did a fantastic job on those grips!! Well done!! I'm envious!!

It's 0721 hrs now and since 0500 I've been searching the web for 6906/4013 flat grips using every conceivable combination of search parameters possible. I've been to eBay, Gunbroker, Gunsamerica, Numrich, forums, et al. and I turn up nothin'.

I was considering getting a pair of Hogue wood grips but, I want to keep Loretta Windsucker in factory authorized condition. Grinder has been looking for a set of flat grips, too.

I'm admiring your gun, too. The overall look of it, combined with the two-toned finish is eye-catching. Man, that is a fine-looking piece.

I swear, if you'd not have told me that you modified a spare set and I ran across the photos on a Google search, I would have mistaken them as flat back factory grips. I'm salivating now just looking at yours again.

I don't even have a spare set of grips and although I can take apart an entire tank turret and put it back together again, I am useless with a file and sander. *LOL*

Perhaps one day I'll find a spare arched set of grips and and send them off to you with a USPS money order, so that you may work your magic on them. *nudge-nudge-wink-wink*

What magazine/floorplate is that in the photos? More than 9 rounds? I need to get a few spare mags too. I have only 3 factory 9 rounders with the pinky-curve floorplate. Yours is more to my liking, especially on a CCW gun.

Shorty Forty 2000

Did you notice that this week on GunBroker a near mint SF2000 sold for under $700? I got the auction too late.

I know you collect S&W semi-autos. I bought one of the 500 Anniv. 1911's simply because it really looked nice. I decided I would shoot it, no rhyme or reason, but I was totally shocked. I am a bullseye shooter (50 years) and this gun had a nice trigger, slightly heavy, but nice. I figured that shooting it in could not hurt, so I tried. To my amazement the gun shot dead-center point of aim @ 50 ft. On a B2 target it held the 10 ring offhand, but from a rest, it delivered one-ragged hole. The gun shot as well as my 945. I left the range a very happy shooter. Never expected much from a showpiece, but it really shoots.
