Picked up a M&P 45, 4" no lock, no mag safety, no thumb
safety, pistol today. Right out of the box, loaded both mags
with 10 each and paced of 10 yard. Put all 20 into the center
of a paper plate in one area I could cover with my fist. This
one has the Apex Tactical Hard Sear in it (the shop did it)
and the trigger is real sweet. It'll fire before you're ready
until you get use to it.
Question. I want a out side the belt, high ride holster, a few
mags and a CT Grip laser sight for it. Anyone have any
suggestions as to the best places to purchase these items.
I generally use MidwayUSA but their selection of holsters for
the 45 is pitifull.
Thanks,
Dano

I have the same handgun, only mine is the dark earth/black two tone. I bought an outside the belt blackhawk serpa for mine. Conceals great, and quite comfortable to tote around. Did yours come with the frame plugs? Mine has the thumb safety, but seriously thinking of removing it.

Not sure what you mean by frame plugs so I don't know.
I'll look into the Blackhawk Serpa.
Thanks a bunch,
Dano

I have a leather Galco leather owb holster for mine. I purchased it from Galco's web site. I like the holster a lot.

If the gun didn't come with the external safety it has frame plugs already installed on the pistol. Why would they make a gun without ext. safety and leave the frame plugs missing??

I see what you mean by 'frame plugs' now. I own a bunch
of Glocks and the only plug I was invisioning was one for the
grip. Looking at the pic, you can see the little square plug
where the safety would be.
Looking at a DeSantis model 086 right now. It fits the
Crossbreed SnapSlide I have for a Glock 36. Only problem
is it's designed for a CT LaserGuard sight and that weakens
the amount of tension I feel should be there for full retension.
I may go with another CrossBreed, I've got 3 of them and
like them real well.

I got the Crimson Trace laser grip for my MP45 through a merchant on eBay. Price was the best of anywhere else and shipping was timely.

Would you believe it, I'm probably the only person on the
planet the has never used Ebay.:) Cheaperthandirt.com has
it for $299. Little pricey still considering I put one on my
wife's Glock 19 a few weeks ago for $168 and got a $50 buck
rebate.
Thanks for the reply,
Dano

For holsters try Galco for leather and Blade-Tech for Kydex.

To be honest, I have 3 or 4 Galcos for different handguns
and very seldom use them. They just don't wear right for
me for som reason. Never owned a Blade-Tech but I know
a lot of folks that like them.

Holster for the M&P45

I also recommend the Blackhawk Serpa. It fits perfectly, and is very comfortable. It's available through may sources including direct from Blackhawk.

If you don't want to wait for a holster from Raven Concealment, you may want to check out Personal Security Systems holsters. From what I have seen, they make a good quality kydex holster, and right now have a 45 day wait, about half that of Raven.

I ended up going with a Desantis OWH and a Stoner IWH.
I prefer leather to kydex. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thanks for the link to Shielded Holsters I just went there and bought one for my M&P9 full size. I went and got an inside waistband from Blackhawk yesterday at my favorite gun store but like the looks of this holster.

I just hope that like my Blackhawk it has good retention, will give a report later after it arrives!

With regard to the Serpa:

1) I have used one, and liked it well enough; but

2) You really have to make sure to keep your trigger finger straight on the draw. There was a recent viral video where a guy had his finger already curled, and it slid from the holster release right onto the trigger. Shot himself in the leg.

I'm not blaming the holster, just pointing out that one needs to train to whatever equipment one carries.
